Our Menu

We have worked the same way since 1944: the meze are made by hand, the fish comes in daily and the grills are done over charcoal. Below you will find all nine sections. A table opens with cold meze, warms up with hot starters and continues with grills and fish — never in a hurry.

Our Menu — Tarihi Meyzade

This is where the table starts. Every cold meze is prepared in our kitchen on the day; the plates go to the middle and are shared. This section is the foundation of a rakı table.

Olive-oil dishes are served cold and are entirely vegetable-based — this is the widest choice for vegetarian guests. They stay light and work well early in the meal.

Once the table warms up, the hot starters arrive. Shrimp in butter and lamb liver in butter are the two most requested plates here; both are cooked to order.

The grills are cooked over charcoal and arrive towards the end of the table. Our Adana kebab and chicken wings are the best known; this section also works on its own as a main course.

Salads and pickles are what balance the table. Pickles in particular are asked for alongside rakı, while the salads cut through the richness of the grills.

Fish arrives fresh every day and the varieties change with the season. For that reason we do not keep a fixed list here — ask our staff what came in today. Alongside rakı, this is the most classic choice of all.

Rakı sets the rhythm of the table: it is drunk slowly and moves along with the meze. Alongside the familiar brands we also serve beer and wine. We are a licensed house, and alcohol is served throughout our opening hours.

A table without alcohol is set just as fully. Şalgam and ayran are the most popular choices with meze, and tea comes at the end of the meal.

The table closes with fruit rather than a heavy dessert. Melon with white cheese is the classic finish to a rakı table; then tea arrives and the evening winds down.

Menu questions

Why are there no prices on the menu?

Because the price of some items — fish above all — changes daily, we do not keep a fixed price list on the site. Current prices are on our QR menu, and you are welcome to call and ask.

Are there vegetarian options?

Yes, and plenty of them. Almost all of the cold meze and the olive-oil dishes are meat-free; together with the salads, a vegetarian guest can build a full table from the meze sections alone.

Do you have fish every day?

Yes. Fish comes in daily; the variety changes with the season and the price is set by the day. Ask our staff what came in today.

How many meze should we order?

The usual measure is two or three meze per person; for a table of four, eight to ten dishes make a comfortable spread. Since hot starters and grills follow, do not over-order at the start — you can always add more.
