Our Story
Tarihi Meyzade Restaurant has stood in the heart of Kasımpaşa since 1944, bringing together traditional meyhane culture and warm Turkish hospitality.
With three generations of experience, daily fresh fish, grills cooked over charcoal, handmade meze prepared with care and genuinely warm service, we bring the spirit of old Istanbul to your table.
Whether it is a pleasant evening with friends, a special celebration or a quiet dinner, our door is open. You are most welcome at our table.
We are on Ziyafet Sokak in the Camii Kebir quarter of Kasımpaşa, one of Beyoğlu's oldest districts. We are very close to Taksim, Şişhane and Galata, and within walking distance of the Golden Horn and the Kasımpaşa waterfront. If you are looking for a meyhane away from the crowds yet right in the centre of the city, you are in the right place.
Our tables celebrate the full art of the rakı and fish tradition: the day's fresh catch arriving each morning, handmade cold meze, olive-oil dishes, and signature grills such as lamb liver, Adana kebab and chicken wings cooked over charcoal. Our venue is well suited to large family tables, business dinners and special celebrations, and on big match days you can enjoy the evening with our live match broadcast.
For anyone looking for a licensed bar-restaurant or a classic meyhane in Kasımpaşa, Tarihi Meyzade is one of the district's most established addresses. Our proximity to Taksim, Şişhane and Galata makes us easy to reach for anyone planning dinner in Beyoğlu. We offer parking, are well suited to group and business dinners, and show live match broadcasts on big game days. With more than 40 handmade meze varieties, daily fresh fish and charcoal grills, we have carried on Istanbul's oldest meyhane tradition since 1944.
We are open seven days a week, 12:00 – 24:00. We recommend booking in advance, especially for weekend evenings and larger groups — make a reservation.
